What is a WHOIS Lookup?
WHOIS is the registry’s own record of a domain: who registered it (via which registrar), when, and — most practically — when it expires. It is the first check before buying, disputing, or panicking about a domain.
This lookup queries the real WHOIS system live (IANA, then the TLD registry, following registrar referrals) and shows both parsed key fields and the full raw record.
The expiry date is the field that pays the bills: domains that lapse enter grace, then redemption (recovery costs 10-20x renewal), then public auction — where good names are snapped up by drop-catchers within seconds.
