What is a DNS Propagation Checker?
After you change a DNS record, resolvers around the world keep serving the old cached answer until its TTL expires. Propagation checking shows which resolvers have the new value and which are still behind.
This tool queries six major public resolvers directly — Google, Cloudflare, Quad9, OpenDNS, AdGuard and Level3 — and shows each answer side by side with response time.

Frequently asked questions
How long does DNS propagation take?
Up to the record’s previous TTL — often minutes, sometimes up to 48 hours for long TTLs or registrar-level changes like nameserver switches.
Some resolvers show old values — should I worry?
No, that is propagation in progress. Worry only if nothing updates after the TTL has clearly passed — then re-check the record at your DNS provider.
Can I speed propagation up?
Not for caches that already hold the old value. For future changes, lower the TTL in advance, make the change, then raise it back.
Why do resolvers disagree on IPs even when correct?
CDNs and geo-DNS intentionally return different addresses per region — disagreement is only a problem when you expected one fixed value.
