What is a Character Counter?
Character limits are everywhere: 280 for an X post, ~160 for a meta description, 160 per SMS segment. This counter tracks your text against all of them at once.
The table shows how many characters you have used and how many remain for each platform, turning red when you are over.

Do emoji count as one character?
Visually yes, but many platforms count them as two or more internally. When close to a limit, leave a small buffer.

The message splits into multiple segments and is billed per segment by carriers.
